Google Verification Numbers: Availability and Honest Notes
By Inbox Number Team · Published · Last updated · 3 min read
A Google verification number is a phone number you use to receive the code Google sends when you sign up or log in. On Inbox Number you can use a one-time number, a short-term US rental or a monthly number. Google decides which numbers it accepts, so acceptance isn't guaranteed.
Availability: monthly numbers (US, CA, UK, AU) can be ordered now. The OTP marketplace (one-time activations and short-term US rentals), eSIM data plans and proxies are coming soon; you can join their waitlists on the product pages.

This page explains what to expect when you use an Inbox Number virtual number with Google, a account and email service. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. It's part of our services overview.
Is Google available on Inbox Number?
Google is on the popular-services list for the Inbox Number OTP marketplace, which is coming soon. When ordering opens, the countries offered and the price will be shown before you buy, and can change.
The OTP marketplace is coming soon: ordering isn't open yet, and you can join the waitlist on the OTP marketplace page. Monthly numbers in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia are available to everyone.
Which number type should you use for Google?
Use a monthly number if you'll keep the Google account, and a one-time number only if you'll never need another SMS code from Google.
| Number type | When it fits Google | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| One-time activation | A single code | You can't receive later codes after the order ends |
| Short-term US rental | A few codes over hours or days | The period is shown before you buy |
| Monthly number | An account you'll keep | Stays yours while you renew; annual plans 25% off |
Many services ask for a code again on a new device or during security checks. If that happens and your number is gone, you may lose access, so think about the account's lifetime first. See temporary vs. permanent numbers.
How long does the code take to arrive?
Codes usually arrive within seconds to a few minutes. Each one-time order shows its own time window; if the code hasn't arrived by the end of it, it probably won't.
If you're waiting, check the number and country code, then resend once. See why codes don't arrive.
What happens if no code arrives?
On a one-time order, cancel it and the price goes back to your wallet balance. You can then try another country, if one is offered, or a different number type.
What restrictions does Google apply?
A Google Account may ask for a phone number at sign-up, for recovery or for 2-Step Verification. Google decides whether to accept a number, and may ask for a different one. For your main Google Account, keep recovery on a number you control long-term and prefer passkeys.
Google's rules change over time, so check its own help pages for current requirements. Read why some websites reject virtual numbers for background.
Has Inbox Number tested Google compatibility?
Not yet. Compatibility with Google has not yet been tested by Inbox Number, and we don't publish success rates we haven't measured. Acceptance can differ by country, number and time, and it is Google's decision.
What are the rules for using Inbox Number with Google?
Only verify Google accounts that you own, follow Google's terms of service, and don't create accounts in bulk or to get around a ban or restriction. Inbox Number may close accounts that break these rules.
