Facebook Verification Numbers: Availability and Honest Notes

By Inbox Number Team · Published · Last updated · 3 min read

A Facebook verification number is a phone number you use to receive the code Facebook sends when you sign up or log in. On Inbox Number you can use a one-time number, a short-term US rental or a monthly number. Facebook decides which numbers it accepts, so acceptance isn't guaranteed.

This page explains what to expect when you use an Inbox Number virtual number with Facebook, a social network. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Facebook. It's part of our services overview.

Is Facebook available on Inbox Number?

Facebook is on the popular-services list for the Inbox Number OTP marketplace, which is coming soon. When ordering opens, the countries offered and the price will be shown before you buy, and can change.

The OTP marketplace is coming soon: ordering isn't open yet, and you can join the waitlist on the OTP marketplace page. Monthly numbers in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia are available to everyone.

Which number type should you use for Facebook?

Use a monthly number if you'll keep the Facebook account, and a one-time number only if you'll never need another SMS code from Facebook.

Number typeWhen it fits FacebookNotes
One-time activationA single codeYou can't receive later codes after the order ends
Short-term US rentalA few codes over hours or daysThe period is shown before you buy
Monthly numberAn account you'll keepStays yours while you renew; annual plans 25% off

Many services ask for a code again on a new device or during security checks. If that happens and your number is gone, you may lose access, so think about the account's lifetime first. See temporary vs. permanent numbers.

How long does the code take to arrive?

Codes usually arrive within seconds to a few minutes. Each one-time order shows its own time window; if the code hasn't arrived by the end of it, it probably won't.

If you're waiting, check the number and country code, then resend once. See why codes don't arrive.

What happens if no code arrives?

On a one-time order, cancel it and the price goes back to your wallet balance. You can then try another country, if one is offered, or a different number type.

What restrictions does Facebook apply?

Facebook may ask for a phone number at sign-up, for login checks or account recovery. It can ask you to confirm again later, and enforces one-person-one-account rules.

Facebook's rules change over time, so check its own help pages for current requirements. Read why some websites reject virtual numbers for background.

Has Inbox Number tested Facebook compatibility?

Not yet. Compatibility with Facebook has not yet been tested by Inbox Number, and we don't publish success rates we haven't measured. Acceptance can differ by country, number and time, and it is Facebook's decision.

What are the rules for using Inbox Number with Facebook?

Only verify Facebook accounts that you own, follow Facebook's terms of service, and don't create accounts in bulk or to get around a ban or restriction. Inbox Number may close accounts that break these rules.
